Is Movie Maker compatible with mov files?
i have the old xp movie maker is it compatible with mov files and if it isn’t plez send me links to free converters and free video editing software downloads

Ahaha, mov files. Apple’s attempt to make a video format.
It’s possible if you update your codecs you’ll be able to open/use them via Movie Maker. Check out the K-Lite pack for more on that.

For media converters, MediaCoder is the best open-source one but it is a little nerdy. Another option is the easy Any Video Converter. It asks you to get the Pro version but there’s no reason since the free one works just as well.

how do i edit videos?
is there a software or something that i can download for free on my computor to edit videos and movies? i have and older computor i think and i have videos that i made on my camera that i got on my computer and i wanted to cut and edit them. can you helpp? thanks.

Photobucket is a great web based and FREE editing tools. The software behind it comes from Adobe who make some of the best commercial ($$$) photo and video editors. If you need/want more features downloading VideoSpin or VideoThang are great options. Still free, but you have to download the software. For under $100 you can buy Adobe Premiere Elements.

Can I get Windows Movie Maker on my computer?
I have an old Gateway computer, so it doesn’t come with it. Can I download it from somewhere? If so, will it cost anything? And will it work on my computer?
I don’t want to buy any software, so I want to get a free video editor. If Movie Maker won’t work on my computer or something, are there any other free programs I could get?

WHY DOES MY WiNDOWS MOVIE MAKER FREEZE WHEN I TRY TO SAVE THE VIDEO?
It happened on my old computer, and it’s happening on this one too! I make a movie, add movie files or pictures, music sometimes, sometimes subtitles. I click “save project as” and save the project no problem. But when i’m finished making it, and i click “save to my computer” it freezes. it never says “save in high quality” or anything like that. As soon as I click anything like save to computer, save to disk, to internet, etc, it freezes. THEN when i close it because its not responding so I click end now, whenever i right click something to copy, paste, properties, anything, if i click for example copy, the little highlighted blue bar that says “copy” stays in front of all my programs until i restart the computer. once this started, i used movie maker on the guest account, but it freezed there too one day.
Anyone know what to do?
Is there a video making software free EXACTLY like movie maker i can download?

I don’t know of any downloadable software (I prefer iMove…) but I have used Movie Maker for a long time, and I have discovered that it likes to freeze a lot. A tip I have found to work in most situations is to keep pressing the shift key until it un-freezes. Hopefully this works for you.

Giant ant sounds?
Does anyone know where I can download the “giant ant sound effects” from the old b/w movie “Them”? Free would be good. I want to play them in the middle of the night when we go camping out in the desert.
Yeah that’s it, now I need to loop it so it can play for a few minutes.
