I think something went wrong when I downloaded Jahshaka?
I was REALLY annoyed with Windows Movie Maker so I went online searching for something better. I saw Jahshaka, and, noticing that they were going to release a newer version in a month, decided to download it.
I actually don’t have a lot of experience downloading things, so bear with me.
It opened in something called “winRAR” (I don’t remember the exact capitalization) which looked fairly old. I couldn’t figure out how to open Jahshaka from there. It said it wasn’t free, so in one of my fits of technology-impaired-ness, closed it.
Did this happen because I used the older version? Should I have waited for the newer version?
How do I find Jahshaka now? (I can’t find it anywhere on my computer)
Is there a program besides Jahshaka that isn’t this complicated?
admin answers:
The original Jahshaka file needed to be ‘unzipped or unrarred’
hence the mention of Winrar.
A free 7 Zip download would have done the same job.
Personally, I would search at the – OSalt or AlternativeTo – websites
for their suggestions here.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Jahshaka is not one of those listed.
At least this time if the file is in a zip or rar format, you’ll know what to do, eh?

creating mp4 compatible video?
I got lucky and got a free copy of Divx Converter which has helped me get some of my old home videos made years ago into a format that would play on my new external DVD player (and most other newer players) so now I can make copies for the rest of the family.
My Sister in Law gave me some of her families home movies made with a different cam corder and encoded into avi files that Winamp will play but the Divx converter tells me they aren’t compatible and won’t convert them. As a temporary fix I downloaded the trial version of Divx Author and that fixes them.
Is there any other software out there that’s free and guaranteed to take any video file regardless of how old it is and be able to convert it (even if I have to rip audio and convert separately and then put it back together?).
I don’t want an illegal key as this may turn into a side job so it needs to be legit.
TIA!

Yes there are many programs out there.
For Example, I know that Alive Video Converter covers most if not all video files and converts to other video types.

It’s a free program and has a user-friendly interface. I find it to be very handy-dandy

You should already have windows movie maker on your windows 7 machine. If not it may be because you have a business or pro version, you can download it if you don’t have it…

Where can I Downlaod Sony Vegas?
I know I previously asked this question, but unfortunately, it was categorized wrong.
Anywaysss, I kinda want a new video editor. I don’t particularly favor in the Windows Movie Maker — no offense to those who do. It’s getting old; I’ve been using it for years. I’ve seen some nice videos made by Sony Vegas Software, and I was considering using it…
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/down… <— QUESTION 1: Is it safe to download it from right there? I don’t want any viruses. If not, can you provide a SAFE link? QUESTION 2: If I download it from the link I gave, will I pay for it?
Is the program free? Do you recommend it?
Answers are appreciated—muchlove
