For songs, Limewire is the only way to go. Download the free version onto your PC from limewire.com. Go to the audio section and search for songs, then download. You can search by the title of the song or by the artist.
For movies, any of these sites allow you to watch or download for free. My fav is 66stage.com

Share ware and free sites are not good at all and can bring other things to your computer you do not want. Paid sites should be much better.
