George asks…
Can anyone tell me a good site for different media converters.?
I’m using a Flip Camera with students and they want to put their little movies into Powerpoint. When they download from the camera they are MPeg4. I’ve tried converting them to AVI and we get sound but no picture. I’ve changed them to wmv and they are fine but the trouble is the kids are on PCs and I have to use a Mac to convert them because I can’t work out how to do it on a Windows machine! Someone has suggested that we put a converter on the PC to change the format but it’s for little kids so it has to be easy. Any suggestions?

Video File Formats Compatible with PowerPoint:
# Windows Media file (*.asf)
# Windows Video file (*.avi)
# Movie file (*.mpg or *.mpeg)
# Windows Media Video file (*.wmv)
More info at the article “PowerPoint Compatible Audio and Video File Formats”, http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/blog/powerpoint-compatible-audio-and-video-file-formats/
To make a presentation work with both Mac and PC, you can convert the PowerPoint file to video or DVD, with third-party conversion software like Moyea PPT to DVD Burner:
3 editions:
the Pro, http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt_to_dvd/
the Lite, http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/powerpoint-to-dvd/
the Edu, http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-dvd-education/
I guess the Edu fits to you most.
Then follow the how-to:
1. Install and run Moyea PPT to DVD Burner. Insert a blank DVD to your PC, if you want to burn the presentaiton to DVD.
2. Import your PowerPoint file and select the output as Standard DVD or High Definition DVD. Or choose to convert to video.
3. Customize details for the output DVD/video slideshow, like adding logos, sound tracks, and DVD menus for playback on TV. Then click Start to burn the presentation to DVD or convert to video.
That’s it!

Why is my hard drive corrupt?
So over the past month, I’ve downloaded a handful of programs for ripping movies to my hard drive (none of which have worked, by the way). I can’t remember which ones they were besides HandBrake, but I remember checking on Yahoo! Answers and other reference sites to verify their authenticity. They seemed fine to me.
But my computer’s been running quite slowly for the past day or so, and my dad just checked for issues. The app he ran to diagnose issues said that our hard drive was corrupt. I have a Mac with the latest OS update. I have just emptied the Trash bin file, as my dad and I thought that a full Trash might have been the issue of the slowness I’ve been experiencing.
But now I’m not so sure… Help!
-Why is it corrupt?
-How do I repair it?

Corrupt hard drive has absolutely nothing to do with what’s on your computer unless you somehow downloaded a virus dangerous enough to corrupt it. A corrupt hard drive is when part of it crashes and becomes unreadable, but not all of it. Generally this is when it either touches the laser and shatters, gets scratched somehow or an operating system error corrupts it, so you probably need a new hard drive.

Woah, if you have a budget of $3000 and you want a gaming laptop, have you considered about alienware?

How to add text to a video–what program should I use?
I would like to add text to the bottom of a video and have it say there the whole video. The video is in .mov and .wmv format.
I have tried Windows Movie Maker, QuickTime Pro, and Adobe Premiere and none of them work….
I have Windows Movie Maker, but it doesn’t allow me to put the text at the bottom of the video…and have it stay there.
I just purchased QuickTime for $29.95 because their site says that it allows you to add text to a video. I followed the directions but it doesn’t work well at all.
I’ve also downloaded Adobe Premiere but I found it very difficult to use, and I could not figure out how to do anything.
Does anyone know of a good program that I can use to add text to a video and do other editing….and that is easy to use?
I have Windows computer, not a mac.
Thanks!

Since you are familiar to Movie Maker,I think you can try DVD Slideshow Builder,Same sort of layout as Movie Maker however a lot more powerful with adding lyric/subtitle easily if you want to add words on video.
You can check on this tuorial on
