Is downloading legal?
Is it legal to download movies and so on from torrent sites with for example utorrent? and If bittorent isnt legal is it legal to download from limewire??
I just wanted to say that there are alot of good answers. But one thing I thought was that it was only ilegal to share and that downloading was legal because you were not the person who gives it to everyone….. but ok.

Actually now using torrents is considered illegal. A ruling was passed over the summer against TorrentSpy in favor of the MPAA. While it will be in debate for some time to come. A little snippet and links to a few articles.
It’s not that it is illegal to download that is perfectly legal. The illegal part is not downloading copyrighted material, but actually sharing copyrighted material.
You can download anything protected or not, but when you use P2P clients you are actually sharing those files. Which again is the illegal part. So you can download from FTP sites legally because it does not require you to share any files on your system.
Torrents are supposed to work in RAM which does not store material on drives. The hashes are loaded in RAM and that’s what being shared.

is it legal to use fan-made subtitles? If yes, where (sites) can i find them?
I want to watch thai movies, but the problem is i don’t know how to speak their language. I bought a dvd with no english subtitle. Is it legal to just download a fan-made subtitle even though there is a version of the movie in dvd with english subtitles (which is very expensive)?

Just download the damn subtitle.
Have you ever heard of anyone sentenced for life for downloading a less than 1 MB text file.

Sorry but it’s not possible… Until studios don’t release it on anything other than theater format, then you won’t be able to see it legally on any site…

U can download movies from stagevu get the free flash player app then get the free easy downloader pro app then go to stagevu.com search 4 a movie click the movie U want then you will notice a download button in the middle of the screen click it w8 a sec then the easy downloader pro app will pop up chooce that to download your movie when u click easy downloader pro it will take u 2 the app click ok and your movie will start or at least it should its how I get movies honestly it should work some movies no longer have files so if it dosnt download just try another movie

How safe are movie sites?
How safe is let me watch this I got a new laptop and I have a virus protection but don’t want it being destroyed is it safe and I know it’s not legal. Also I use the put locker link. Also I wouldn’t be downloading the films I’ll just watch them online.

Watching movies online is generally safe if you use a good site.
I always watch movies through www.1channel.ch where you search for a movie and then it gives you links. It usually has links to putlocker and sockshare which are the best ones, I’ve never had any problems with them 🙂
