Legalities of downloading videos off Youtube?
There is software that allows you to download videos off Youtube. If someone downloads a music video and converts it to mp3 what is the legal stand point?
@ Sans Diety – Good to know. What about though if someone used the music communally, like at a party? It’s not being sold, but being heard by others.
admin answers:
Nothing, as long as you don’t sell it. It’s the same with recording movies off your TV. If you’re just using it for personal use, you’re fine; you’re only going to get in trouble if you start selling them.
But, I would check Youtube’s Terms of Service. You might not face any legal repurcussions but if it’s stated in the ToS that you can’t download them, they could ban you from the site, but that’s it.

Where can I buy The Hangover Part II?
I’m from Australia and I’ve checked the websites of Big W, JB Hi Fi and Blockbuster and they only have the first Hangover. Does anybody know where to get the second one?
admin answers:
I can recommend a couple of sites but there is a one time fee to join either of them. The fees are a one time thing, there are no monthly charges of any type and there are no limits to how many movies you can download.
According to both sites their downloads are 100% legal unlike bit torrent and other download sites. I kinda think this is a big plus personally. Getting to old to be going to jail or paying crazy fines over some stupid movie. 😉
You can read about the first site here; http://www.movie2kmovies.com/the-movie-home/
and the second one here; http://www.movie2kmovies.com/get-unlimited-access-to-80-million-free-movies/
I can’t tell you with 100% certainty that the newest Hangover movie will be there but with such a large library on both sites I imagine you have a really good chance of getting what you want on one of them.
Good luck and happy hunting.

How can I get the creepy American version of the ringtone from One Missed Call? I have Verizon and it won’t work when I try to download it from the site on my phone.

Is Kat.ph illegal, can i download movies, songs and games and why are they illegal for other torrent sites ?
I heard more people use torrent. but read in newspaper that it is illegal. if it’s illegal then why not banned ?
admin answers:
All that KAT carries is torrent files, which contain no copyrighted content. However, most of the content that can be gotten through those torrents is copyrighted material and is illegal to distribute.
.
Torrent sites are a gray area of the law as the site does not actually carry copyrighted content, but carrying torrents could be considered “facilitating” illegal copyright infringement. KAT is located in a country that is favorable to them. If you are in a country that is tough on the illegal transfer of copyrighted content, then you are at risk.
There is some legal content at KAT – linux distros and movies and books that are out of copyright

If TorrentSpy loses its case in court, what happens to everyone who used their site?
Will they track everyone that downloaded a movie/game/CD from them and send them to court? Is that really even possible. I mean I know they have access to track them, but money wise or prison space, is it possible to punish all of the people? What happens in a situation like that?
admin answers:
As long as you discontinue using their service after learning the ruling, there’s nothing that can be done to punish you. That would be prosecution ex post facto, or after the fact, which is prohibited in our legal system. You can’t be punished for doing something that wasn’t illegal at the time.
