Your Questions About Movie Download Sites That Are Safe

Richard asks…

What’s the best method to transferring movies on DVDs over to blank DVDs?

If it’s possible, I would like a method where I can move EVERYTHING over, as if the blank DVD had been changed into the real DVD. Any suggestions are appreciated though.

Thanks

admin answers:

You need a program to copy them -such as dvd shrink, dvd 43. Just google the free download, but beware of sites trying to sell you the freeware as some do try to rip you off. Softpedia is a good safe download site for various software. Heres your dvd shrink feeware download -just click on this link then on the download box.~~

What can I add to make my computer faster?

My comp. is a Dell XPS 410 and it has slowed down over time. It’s clean of viruses and sypware. I’d like to hopefully get another 3yrs use out of it.

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz 1.86GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 2.00 GB
Windows 7 with 64-bit operating system

Any suggestions? Would more RAM really help that much/worth the money?

Log on as an Administrator.

First delete/un-install all programs/applications/games you no longer use (especially those you have disks for).

Burn/copy to CD/DVD/flash drive any and all music/pictures/movie files, verify they copied successfully and delete the originals.

Download install and run Ccleaner, both ‘Registry’ and ‘Cleaner’ parts…
Http://www.ccleaner.com

Run Disk Cleanup (Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools) check/tick all boxes, they’re all safe to remove.

Run Disk Defragmenter (Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools).

Increase Virtual Memory…

1.Open Control Panel>System and Maintenance>System.

2.In the left “Tasks”, click on ‘Advanced System Settings’.

3.Click the “Advanced” tab. In “Performance” section, click on ‘Settings’ button.

4.Click on ‘Advanced’ tab.

5.In the “Virtual Memory” section, click on ‘Change’ button.

6.By default, “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives” setting is selected so that Windows Vista system can manage the paging file without user’s interruption. If you want change the paging file size, uncheck the check box of Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.

7.Select and highlight the appropriate drive that users want to change the paging file settings under the box of “Drive [Volume Label]“ Usually ‘C:’.

8.To fix a permanent size for the paging file, click on Custom size button, and set the values of Initial Size 4095 (MB) and Maximum Size 4095 (MB). To make the size of pagefile.sys static. Then click on Set button.

Click Start>Run and type

msconfig
(or type it in the search bar)

and press Enter/Return. Click the Startup tab and uncheck anything that’s not needed at startup.

How do I back up my Ipod with TunePlus when the Ipod thinks it is a camera?

I need to transfer things on my Ipod Touch to my computer and I have a program call TunePlus that should do it but, it won’t work because my Ipod somehow thinks it’s a camera.

admin answers:

Hello there, as long as your songs are still on your iPod, you can get them back to your computer and iTunes easily.
This is how I did. I used MediaWidget to move all library files from my iPod onto my computer and iTunes

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&newwindow=1&q=site%3Agutensoft.com+mediawidget&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

It can transfer all iPod content to the iTunes on your computer, including iPod music, movies, playlists, videos, podcasts, ratings, last played, and more. It’s such a powerful one that many friends around me have used it for a long time. Easy and safe.

Now all files are on your computer and iTunes, you can sync your iPod with it smoothly without deleting any files.

Just free download it to try.

How do I make a collage of videos?

I have been searching lots of different sites on how to do this but have had no luck at all!

I was wondering how to make a collage of videos so you can see for example 6 different videos on the screen at the same time.

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp1BYzIVi0U

The video above is EXACTLY what I’m looking for but have no idea how to make/do one.

If anyone can help it would be amazing!

Thank you.

admin answers:

Some video editors can do this easily, others not without some work, and others still can’t do it at all.

Adobe Premiere – http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere.html – can do this easily. It’s up to you to decide if the ability to do this is worth $800.

Older versions of Windows Movie Maker can do it if you fiddle with it – http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Tutorials/ – you want tutorials 5 and 32.

WMM isn’t bad but it is picky in what file formats it takes and the lack of native support for multiple video and audio tracks are a definite disadvantage (but there are workarounds)

The version 2 series were probably the most versatile, you can find them here – http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/windows-movie-maker.html – but you’ll have problems installing the older versions on Windows 7.

Other free video editors are…

Wax – http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ – this is also a compositor – a bit like Adobe’s After Effects – – unlimited video and audio tracks
VideoLAN Movie Creator – http://videolan.org/vlmc/ – up to 64 audio and video tracks
TrakAxPC – www.trakax.com/software/pc/
VideoSpin – videospin.com/ – just 1 video track so you may as well use WMM
VideoPad – the free version – http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/
Lightworks – http://www.lightworksbeta.com/ – I like this one – unlimited tracks ?
Serif MoviePlus – http://serif.com/free-video-editing-software/ – unlimited tracks ?
Ezvid – http://ezvid.com/ – 32 video and audio tracks

VirtualDub, RAD Video tools, AVITricks and Avidemux are also good tools you should look at. Although not full editors like the others they have some useful features.

Lightworks and Wax together are a very good video editing system for free.

All are safe, at least from the sites I’ve linked to.

I’ve tried all of these at one time or another but I can’t remember which of them are capable of PIP, if I even tried doing it in them.

There are reviews of 14 editors under $100 at http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ – Whether these things have the capability of split screen isn’t part of the reviews so you’ll need to ask on their forums or use Google to find out before you buy.

Mark asks…

What other things can I do to speed up my computer?

I run Disk Defragmenter and a full system scan (Norton) everyday.

The laptop is only a year old but it’s starting to lag and get slower and slower already.
Once a month? Wow, I didn’t know that. Thanks for all the tips.

admin answers:

Norton is probably your biggest problem, it’s well known for system hogging/slow down (you also don’t need to scan every day, once a month is enough). Ditch it and try one of these free ones…
